7-night Amalfi Coast Bareboat Itinerary

Day 1: Salerno

Embark on your unforgettable bareboat charter adventure in the enchanting Amalfi Coast. Begin your journey by boarding your yacht in Salerno, ensuring you stock up on delectable local foods and wines for the week ahead. Salerno, the capital of the Amalfi Coast, offers a picturesque town to explore, replete with medieval churches, boutique shops, charming restaurants, and a lively historical center.

Day 2: Salerno - Sorrento (31 NM)

Cruise along the coast and drop anchor near the cliff-hugging fishing village of Positano for a delightful lunch and a refreshing swim. This vantage point offers the best view of the vibrant, pastel-colored houses adorning the cliffs, all without the need for steep stair climbing! After a leisurely stop, set sail for Sorrento. From this vantage point, take in the awe-inspiring views of Mount Vesuvius, the city of Naples, and the enchanting islands of Ischia and Capri - a truly breathtaking panorama!

Day 3: Sorrento - Procida (17 NM)

At a mere 4 square kilometers, Procida is the smallest gem in the Bay of Naples, exuding a picturesque charm with its lemon groves and the characteristic pastel-hued houses. This tiny island has managed to preserve its natural allure and, outside of August, offers a tranquil escape from the tourist crowds. Meander through narrow cobbled streets, interact with local fishermen, or simply bask in the serene natural beauty from the comfort of your yacht.

Day 4: Procida - Ischia (5 NM)

Indulge in a leisurely breakfast on deck as you make your way to Ischia, the largest island in the Bay of Naples, just a short hop from Procida. If the pursuit of eternal youth beckons, Ischia is the place to be! This volcanic island is renowned for its therapeutic thermal springs, hot mud pools, and sands that have provided relief to visitors for centuries. Covered in lush forests, vineyards, and rocky outcrops, Ischia offers a more tranquil alternative to its bustling neighbor, Capri. Head to Ischia Porto, a bustling town where you can savor fresh catches from the local fishermen at one of the waterfront restaurants.

Day 5: Ischia - Capri (13 NM)

The name Capri evokes an air of old-world glamour and jet-set allure. Superyachts and famous visitors have graced its shores for centuries, dating back to when Roman Emperors favored it as their retreat. If mingling with the elite isn't your preference, you'll still find something enchanting on this remarkably beautiful island. Explore ancient temples and ruins, traverse the rocky interior, and marvel at the renowned Blue Grotto. Dive into the warm, crystalline waters and relish in the serenity of a quiet cove with a refreshing drink in hand, soaking in the beauty that has captivated admirers for centuries.

Day 6: Capri - Amalfi (16 NM)

A visit to the Amalfi Coast wouldn't be complete without paying homage to the town that bestowed its name upon this breathtaking coastline. Amalfi, once a haven for Roman Aristocracy who built holiday villas here in the first century A.D., was also a formidable maritime base in the Mediterranean. Although little remains of its maritime prowess, it is now a vibrant yet relaxed holiday destination. Wander through sun-drenched piazzas with a gelato in hand, and be sure to visit the Arab-Norman cathedral at the heart of town, boasting its striking Byzantine facade.

Day 7: Amalfi - Salerno (8 NM)

Enjoy a leisurely sail back along the rugged Amalfi coastline to return to Salerno. Take some time to explore this captivating and beautiful town, renowned as the birthplace of the Scuola Medica Salernitana, one of Europe's foremost medieval medical institutes. There's much to discover in terms of historical interest, alongside modern additions like the striking new ferry terminal designed by Zaha Hadid. Stroll the tree-lined waterfront promenade, savor local delights in one (or several) of the wine bars, trattorias, and cafes, and begin plotting your next bareboat charter adventure!
